Recipe: Candied Kumquats, Vegan, Allergen-Free


Like the taste of marmalade but in individual bites, candied kumquats are yum for snacks, to put into tea or adult mixed cocktails, into cakes or I made candied kumquat chocolate candy cups.

Here’s the basic recipe.

Recipe: Candied Kumquats, Vegan, Allergen-Free

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup white sugar

20 washed, sliced, seeded kumquats 

Stir water and sugar in small saucepan over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat and bring to boil. 

Add washed, sliced, seeded kumquats and return to boil. Reduce heat to medium and simmer until fruit is tender and liquid is syrupy, about 20-30 minutes. Transfer to bowl; cool to room temperature. 

Cover and chill. Keeps for 1-2 weeks.
