#SpringinCentralPark, March 20, 2019

Yesterday was the Central Park Conservancy’s first day of spring celebration and I was invited to join the festivities, specifically to hear award-winning authors, like Mark Bittman and Nicole Krauss, reading their favorite spring-themed prose on the Literary Walk in Central Park

It was a perfect day for it; the sun was shining, it was brisk and cold but with an air of change (read: lots of sneezes, glorious spring sneezes!).

The park is still bare but when you look closely you can see buds aching to bloom. The Conservancy has been getting Central Park ready for weeks, according to AMNY.

After Bittman read from Charlotte’s Web (so dear!), we walked through The Mall, saw the bubble man, through to Bethesda Fountain, to the geese swimming in twos, and people rowing on the little pond.

Have a look at these images, captured by Zach Nelson, and take in the coming-spring sounds and sights of spring in Central Park.
