Worry-Free Dinner in NYC?

So I have this idea to put out to my fellow New Yorkers with food allergies and food intolerances.

Would any of you who live in NYC or nearby be interested in getting together for a pre-paid, prix-fixe meal that would be allergen-friendly and worry-free? Either a dinner during the week or possibly a weekend brunch?

Allergic/intolerant/special needs diners are the most loyal patrons a restaurant can hope to attract. I know many of you are anxious about eating out at a new place but this would be a way to expand our dining horizons, meet new people who understand why you want the "sauce on the side", and have a yummy dining experience.

Let me know, leave a comment or send me an email: allergicgirl@gmail.com.

PS: It's finally here: Worry-Free Dinners!

Sounds like a great idea! Maybe you could coordinate with the NYC Celiac Meet-Up or other similar groups. I'd be happy to participate!

I like your idea.
I live too far. Darn.
Patrick plays tonight at Kenny's Castaways at nine (free). They serve gluten free beer now. All I had to do is ask. They didn't know what it was but wanted to know all about it and are now serving it. YEAH! Patrick will be in costume. Wish I could be there. Good luck with the dinner party idea. HUGS.

Sure, I'm down if it's a Sunday through Thursday night. I think it would be good to coordinate this through Celiac MeetUp NY (if you don't have their URL e-mail me and I'll give it to you) since they already do stuff like this... coordinating meals and talking first with the staff. Making an event with them that is friendly to people with multiple food allergies would be great. I'm coordinating something like this up here in the Hudson Valley right now, actually. Our first dinner is in November.
Sounds like a wonderful idea...
