Just found you because of the article on CNN.com. Can I link your site to mine?

I just found your blog through cnn's story about you. I have had food allergies my whole life, but it wasn't until my daughter's severe allergies that we became so affected. I truly hope these worry-free dinners spread. There are so many restaurants where we can't eat due to the nut issue especially, the rest of the allergies we can work around, but you are doing a tremendous service!

Found your site through CNN.com. My 4.5 year old little boy has several food allergies as well. Tree nuts, peanuts, wheat, egg, soy, sesame oil and sesame seeds. I'm going to save your blog on my favorites so I can go back and read past entries when I have time.

Congrats on the event and also on the corresponding CNN online article!

As I'm sure all in attendance agreed, a "worry-free" dinner for food-allergic diners is an invaluable experience.

Keep up the good work! And keep us posted on future kids events.

Thanks for your blog, I just found it. It's nice to hear about other allergic adults out there, it feels like most information lately is for parents of allergic kids.

I loved your post about kissing and can really identify! (It's actually been a nice excuse once or twice when a guy I had no interest in wanted to kiss me, "I'm sorry, I can't kiss you, you had the spicy noodles with peanuts and I'm allergic.") I work in an industry where I eat out a lot with clients and coworkers. My coworkers will often ask me if they can eat something with nuts if I'm at the table and my response has become "As long as you don't kiss me, it's fine." They all think it's hillarious, and I like being able to deal with my allergies in a light-hearted way.

Thanks again for your blog!

Thank you for all you are doing. Not only do I have food allergies, but also live with a neurological disorder which makes eating solid food very difficult. The next time you have an allergy free liquified event, please tell me! ..or perhaps I will have to create that one!

I just saw your article on cnn.com. Thanks so much for being an advocate! While I am fortunate not to be allergic to most foods, I am highly allergic to artificial sweeteners (nutrasweet, sucralose, aspartame). Most people just tell me to try it again. It is amazing how many people think it is all in my head. I know it is real. I get a major migraine with a drop of the stuff. It makes me so mad that pharmacies and food companies are putting sucralose in so much stuff and gearing those products to children. I know I am not the only person out there that suffers from the stuff.

Thanks for my little soap box. If I lived in NYC, I'd pay you a little visit to tell you thanks in person! Thanks for all that you do to educate the people of the world.

Hugs to you!

Have you had any interaction with people with Fructose Intolerance? It's starting to affect more people and I myself was diagnosed with it about 4 months ago.

Wow, that really DOES sound like fun! I don't have food allergies - I have allergies to perfume/cologne that triggers REALLY bad cases of asthma. Unfortunately, I can't come up with something similar - while y'all can just speak with a restaurant's management, I'd have to have EVERYONE in the City agree to wear sane amounts of personal scent that don't reek mintues/hours after they've left the area. I can't even get people at work to agree to that - let alone an entire city! Worse, most people don't believe me when I say their perfume/cologne is what's making me gag/choke/cough. I'm sure you get that, too: "It's all in your head." Well, it's not, and I congratulate you all on gaining a little bit of freedom! (Just think about me the next time you go to put some perfume on!)

ok I have a kid with food allergies - how can I sign up for these? Worry-free restaurant dinners are my idea of heaven.
Sloan, just saw the article on this on CNN.com! That is SO awesome. Congrats on getting the food allergy message (and your great bio photo) out into the mainstream. Love love love it.

I'll definitely try to come to one of these next time I'm in NYC. Great job!

Kudos to you for putting these dinners together! We have a Gluten Free Dinner Club in Atlanta that I'm an organizer for. We only avoid gluten and it's hard enough getting places to accomodate us with just that intolerance.

It saddens me to see that CNN had to close the comments on the article about you due to the rudeness and downright hatefulness of some of the posters. I didn't know such horrid people existed...
