One of the best things about August is *local* sweet corn. I keep getting the 5 for $2 deals at the farmer’s market thinking: perhaps I will make a non-dairy corn chowder, or a fresh cornbread, or use the cooked kernels in a black bean salad. But it is JUST SO GOOD I have to gobble it down on the cob, no corny transformations. Just straight corn goodness.
